अक्सर पूछे जाने वाले सवाल

How do you calculate profit margin?

Profit margin is profit divided by revenue, multiplied by 100. Profit is revenue minus cost. If something costs 70 and sells for 100, profit is 30 and the profit margin is 30%.

What is the difference between margin and markup?

Margin uses selling price or revenue as the base. Markup uses cost as the base. The same 30 profit on 70 cost and 100 revenue is a 30% margin, but a 42.86% markup.

Can this calculate selling price from a target margin?

Yes. Choose Price from margin, enter your cost and target margin, and the calculator divides cost by 1 minus the margin rate. A cost of 70 with a 30% target margin needs a 100 selling price.

Can I calculate max cost from a target margin?

Yes. Choose Max cost from margin, enter the selling price and target margin, and the tool shows the highest cost that still meets that margin. It is useful when supplier prices or fees change.

Does this include tax, shipping or marketplace fees?

Only if you include them in the cost field. For gross margin, enter the direct cost of the product or sale. If fees matter to your decision, add them to cost before calculating.

Is this profit margin calculator free and private?

Yes. It is free, works without an account, and runs entirely in your browser. The costs, prices and margins you enter are not uploaded or stored on a server.
