FAQ
Is my app icon image uploaded anywhere?
No. The selected image is decoded, cropped, resized and zipped locally by your browser. It is not sent to CanDoYa or a processing server. The temporary preview exists only in the current page and is released when you clear or close the tool.
Is the app icon generator free?
Yes. You can generate and download iOS, Android and Web icon packs without an account, subscription or watermark. The tool processes one source image at a time and accepts PNG, JPG and WebP files up to 50 MB.
What size should an app icon source image be?
Use a square 1024 x 1024 pixel image when possible. That matches the largest iOS marketing icon in this pack and gives smaller exports enough detail. Lower-resolution sources still work, but enlarging them to store size can make edges and text look soft.
Which iOS app icon sizes are generated?
The iOS pack includes common iPhone and iPad notification, settings, Spotlight and home-screen sizes from 20 through 180 pixels, plus the 1024 pixel App Store icon. A Contents.json file maps each PNG to its Xcode idiom, point size and scale.
Which Android app icon sizes are generated?
The Android pack creates 48, 72, 96, 144 and 192 pixel launcher PNGs in mipmap-mdpi through mipmap-xxxhdpi folders. It also adds a separate 512 pixel PNG for the Google Play listing. These are standard square launcher assets, not adaptive foreground and background layers.
Does the download include favicons and PWA icons?
Yes. The Web pack includes 16, 32 and 48 pixel favicon PNGs, a 180 pixel Apple touch icon, and 192 and 512 pixel PWA icons. It also includes a site.webmanifest file that references the two installable-app sizes.
What happens when the source image is not square?
The generator takes a centered square crop from the longest dimension instead of stretching the artwork. The preview shows that crop before download. If an important subject sits near one side, crop the source manually first for more precise framing.
