Image tools for everyday edits

Use these image tools to prepare a photo for a form, trim a screenshot or convert a graphic into a format another app accepts. Image Resizer changes pixel dimensions, Image Cropper changes the visible area, and Image Compressor reduces file size using the available output settings. Those are separate jobs: a 4000-pixel photograph can remain large even after its quality setting is reduced. Your selected files are processed in the browser.

Pick an output format with the image in mind. JPEG is suited to photographs but cannot preserve transparency. PNG can keep a transparent background and sharp graphic edges, often with a larger file. WebP can be useful for web images when the receiving app supports it. Converting formats does not recreate detail already lost to compression, and enlarging an image does not guarantee a sharper result.

Check dimensions, appearance and the downloaded file before replacing an original. Browser support, available memory and the number of decoded pixels affect what can be processed, especially on a phone. Metadata and animation may not survive a canvas-based export.
