What are the calculator's limits?
It compares two options at a time using item count, mass, or volume. Each price may be zero through 1 trillion, while quantities must be greater than zero. It does not compare unlike dimensions or convert currencies.
How do you calculate unit price?
Divide the package price by its quantity in the chosen comparison unit. If a 500 gram package costs 6.29, it contains 0.5 kilograms, so its price is 6.29 divided by 0.5, or 12.58 per kilogram.
Can I compare ounces with grams or liters with gallons?
Yes. Choose Weight for ounces, pounds, grams, and kilograms, or Volume for milliliters, liters, US fluid ounces, quarts, and gallons. The calculator normalizes both package sizes before comparing their rates.
Should tax, delivery, or coupons be included?
Use the amount you will actually pay when those charges differ between options. Add item-specific tax, delivery, or a coupon to the relevant package price. Shared basket charges usually do not help distinguish the packages.
