This video watermark tool supports two practical marks: a short text label such as a creator handle, or a JPG, PNG, or WebP logo. Nine position presets keep placement consistent from frame to frame. Size is relative to the video width, while opacity is baked into the overlay so the exported result matches the preview closely.

The browser first turns either watermark type into a transparent PNG. FFmpeg WebAssembly then overlays that image across the full video, writes H.264 picture data, and keeps the first readable audio track as AAC. Subtitles, extra tracks, chapters, and source metadata are not copied. The engine downloads only when export starts; your media files are not sent with that request.

Is my video uploaded when I add a watermark?

No. The selected video and logo remain in this browser tab. A WebAssembly build of FFmpeg processes the frames locally and creates the downloadable MP4 on your device. The engine code downloads when export begins, but your source, logo, and result are not uploaded to CanDoYa.

Is this video watermark tool free?

Yes. You can add text or a logo, preview the placement, render the result, and download it without an account, subscription, credit limit, or extra CanDoYa branding. Your device supplies the processing power, so practical limits depend on available memory and the video's length, resolution, and codec.

How large a video can I watermark in the browser?

The conservative limit is 100 MB on mobile or lower-memory devices, 250 MB on a typical desktop, and 500 MB on a high-memory desktop. Files near those limits can take time because the browser holds the source, video engine, decoded frames, watermark, and exported file at once.

Can I add a transparent logo to a video?

Yes. Choose Logo, then select a PNG, JPG, or WebP image up to 20 MB. A transparent PNG usually gives the cleanest result because its background stays transparent. You can change the logo's relative size, opacity, and position before creating the final MP4.

Can I add text to a video as a watermark?

Yes. Text mode turns a short label into a high-resolution transparent overlay with your chosen color, opacity, and position. A subtle dark edge keeps light text readable over mixed footage. The text is rasterized before export, so the result does not depend on fonts installed on the viewing device.

Does the exported video keep its audio?

Yes, when the source contains a readable audio stream. The tool writes the first audio track as AAC alongside the H.264 picture in an MP4. Silent clips stay silent. Extra audio tracks, subtitles, chapters, attachments, and original metadata are intentionally omitted from the new file.

Will adding a watermark reduce video quality?

The picture must be re-encoded so the watermark appears in every player. The export uses a high-quality H.264 setting, but any lossy re-encode can alter fine detail. Keep the original video as your master and add the watermark from that original instead of repeatedly editing an already compressed copy.

Can a visible watermark stop video theft?

A visible watermark can preserve attribution and discourage casual reuse, but it is not digital rights management. Someone may crop, cover, or retouch it. Place the mark over meaningful picture content when deterrence matters, keep original project files, and use licensing or platform reporting when stronger enforcement is needed.
