01 / Overview

How can I add a watermark to an image?

Add a watermark to an image by choosing a JPG, PNG or WebP file, then overlaying custom text or a logo. Adjust its size, opacity, rotation and position in the live preview, or repeat it across the picture. Export the finished image at its original pixel dimensions without uploading it.

Who it's for

  • Photographers can add a name or studio logo before sharing client proofs.
  • Small businesses can brand product photos with a consistent corner mark.
  • Designers and agencies can tile SAMPLE or DRAFT across preview images sent for review.

This image watermark tool composites your mark directly into the exported pixels. It supports a single positioned watermark for attribution and a staggered repeating pattern for proof images. Processing stays in your browser, so original artwork, client photos and private drafts never enter an upload queue.

FAQ

Is this image watermark tool free?

Yes. You can add text or logo watermarks, preview every setting and download the finished image without an account, subscription, credit limit or added CanDoYa branding. Processing uses your own browser, so there is no server queue or upload allowance.

What image sizes and formats can I watermark?

You can open JPG, PNG and WebP images up to 50 MB, 50 megapixels and 16,384 pixels on either side. The same formats are available for export. Very large images may still be limited by the memory available on your phone or computer.

Can I add a logo watermark to a photo?

Yes. Switch to Logo, choose a PNG, JPG or WebP logo, then control its relative size, opacity, rotation and position. A transparent PNG works best when you want the logo shape without a rectangular background. Both the photo and logo remain on your device.

Can I repeat a watermark across the whole image?

Yes. Turn on Repeat watermark to create a staggered pattern across the image. Repeating a text or logo mark is useful for proofs and draft artwork because a viewer cannot remove it simply by cropping one corner.

Does adding a watermark reduce image quality?

The tool keeps the original pixel dimensions. PNG export is lossless, while JPEG and WebP use the quality level you choose and may slightly change fine detail. Repeated editing and saving as JPEG can accumulate compression artifacts, so watermark from the original file when possible.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Image decoding, previewing, compositing and export all happen locally through your browser's Canvas API. Files are not sent to CanDoYa or stored on a server. Available device memory sets the practical limit for large images.

Can a visible watermark prevent image theft?

A visible watermark discourages casual reuse and keeps attribution attached to shared copies, but it is not digital rights management. Someone may crop, cover or retouch it. Use a tiled mark for stronger deterrence, retain original files and use appropriate licensing or copyright enforcement when needed.
