01 / Overview

How do you convert hourly pay to salary?

An hourly to salary calculator multiplies your hourly rate by paid hours per week and paid weeks per year. A $25 rate at 40 hours for 52 weeks equals $52,000 in gross annual pay. Change the schedule to account for part-time work, seasonal work, or unpaid time off.

Who it's for

  • Job seekers comparing an hourly offer with a salaried role on the same gross-pay basis.
  • Part-time and seasonal workers using their actual paid hours and weeks instead of a full-time default.
  • Freelancers and contractors estimating gross annual billing before expenses, unpaid admin time, and taxes.
  • Households translating a new hourly rate into monthly and weekly planning numbers.

This calculator estimates gross pay, not take-home pay. It does not apply income tax, overtime premiums, bonuses, benefits, or payroll deductions. Currency choice changes only the symbol and number format, so enter a rate in the currency you actually earn.

A monthly figure is the annual result divided by 12. The weekly and biweekly figures represent one or two paid work weeks, which may differ from a payroll deposit when deductions or unpaid days apply.

FAQ

Is this hourly to salary calculator free?

Yes. The calculator is free to use, requires no account, and has no calculation limit. Enter a rate and schedule to see the pay equivalents update immediately.

Is my pay information uploaded?

No. The calculation runs locally in your browser. The hourly rate and schedule you enter are not sent to a server by this tool.

Does the result include taxes and deductions?

No. Every result is gross pay before income tax, payroll tax, insurance, retirement contributions, or other deductions. Tax rules depend on location and personal circumstances, so this calculator does not estimate take-home pay.

How many working hours are in a year?

A 40-hour week across 52 paid weeks contains 2,080 paid hours. If you have two unpaid weeks, the total becomes 2,000 hours. Part-time and seasonal schedules can be calculated by changing both inputs.

Should paid vacation count in weeks per year?

Yes, if your employer pays you during vacation, keep those weeks in the total. Subtract only weeks when you receive no hourly pay, such as unpaid leave or a seasonal shutdown.

Does the calculator include overtime?

No. It treats every entered hour at the same hourly rate. If overtime is paid at a premium, calculate the regular and overtime portions separately rather than adding premium hours to the standard schedule.

Why is monthly pay an average?

Calendar months contain different numbers of workdays and pay periods. The calculator divides annual gross pay by 12, so the monthly result is a planning average rather than an exact paycheck amount.
