No. Capture chunks are collected in memory by your browser and turned into a local video file when recording stops. This tool does not send the screen stream or finished recording to a processing server. Download the file before closing or reloading the page.

The browser opens its own secure picker after you click Start recording. It decides which screens, application windows, and browser tabs are available. Websites cannot silently select a source, reuse permission, or bypass that picker, so you remain in control of what is captured.
Does the screen recorder work on mobile?
Many mobile browsers do not expose website screen capture, so this tool is intended for supported desktop browsers. If the required APIs or a secure connection are unavailable, the recorder shows an unsupported message instead of presenting a start button that cannot work.
Will the recording download as MP4 or WebM?
The tool checks which recording MIME types the browser supports and uses the actual type reported by MediaRecorder. Most supported browsers produce WebM, while some may produce MP4. The download button names the real container, so a WebM recording is never mislabeled as MP4.
What happens if I stop sharing from the browser toolbar?
The recorder listens for the capture track ending. When you stop sharing from the browser's own control, it finishes the MediaRecorder session, assembles the chunks received so far, and prepares the same preview and download you would get from the Stop recording button.
