No. It measures the difference between the wall-clock date and time values you enter, without a time-zone identifier. For a real instant across a DST transition or two locations, convert both values with the timezone converter first.
What happens when the start and end are identical?
The duration is zero. The calculator shows 0 minutes and zero in each cumulative total, which is the exact elapsed gap between identical date-time values.
How is the duration calculated?
Each date-time is converted to a numeric wall-clock timestamp, the start is subtracted from the end, and the difference is split using 86,400 seconds per day, 3,600 per hour, and 60 per minute.
