This PDF page numbering tool is useful when a merged report, scanned packet, or exported document has no reliable page references. You can leave a cover unnumbered by starting the range on page 2 while setting the first printed number to 1. Plain, bracketed, dashed, and current/total styles are available.
The tool adds a searchable text layer to the selected pages. It does not turn pages into images, but saving any edited PDF rewrites document bytes. That matters for signed files: existing cryptographic signatures can become invalid after any change.
