The timer uses a fixed end time rather than subtracting one second on every tick, so switching tabs does not make the clock drift. Your interval settings, task label, alarm preference, and completed sessions for today are stored only in this browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the daily count starts fresh on the next local calendar day.

What is a Pomodoro timer?
A Pomodoro timer divides work into focused intervals, traditionally 25 minutes, separated by short breaks. After four focus sessions, you take a longer break. This online timer guides the full cycle, tracks today's completed sessions, and lets you customize each interval without installing an app or creating an account.
How to use
- 1Name one focus task. Type the task you intend to work on, or leave the field blank if the timer itself is enough.
- 2Start a focus session. Press Start and work until the alarm. Pause if you must stop, or Reset to restart the current interval.
- 3Take the suggested break. The timer switches to a short break after most focus sessions and a long break after the fourth. Start the break when you are ready.
- 4Adjust the cycle if needed. Open Customize timer to change focus, short-break and long-break minutes or the number of sessions in a cycle. Classic 25 / 5 restores the standard pattern.
Who it's for
- Studying without marathon sessions - alternate focused reading or practice with planned breaks before fatigue takes over.
- Writing and coding - give one task your full attention for a defined block, then step away before starting the next block.
- Working from home - add structure to an open-ended day and keep a simple count of completed focus sessions.
- Starting a task you have delayed - commit to one short, visible interval instead of waiting for enough motivation to finish everything.
FAQ
Is this Pomodoro timer free?
Yes. The timer is free, has no session limit, and does not require an account, download, or browser extension. Open the page, choose a task, and start a focus interval.
Are my tasks or session history uploaded?
No. The task label, timer settings, alarm preference, and today's completed-session count stay in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to a server, but they also will not sync to another device or browser.
What are the default Pomodoro times?
The default cycle uses 25 minutes of focus, a 5-minute short break, and a 15-minute long break after four completed focus sessions. You can change all four values in Customize timer.
Can I use a 50 / 10 Pomodoro schedule?
Yes. Set Focus minutes to 50 and Short break to 10, then choose any long-break length and number of focus sessions per cycle. The timer accepts whole intervals from 1 to 180 minutes.
Does the timer stay accurate in a background tab?
Yes. It calculates the remaining time from a fixed deadline on your device clock. When the tab becomes active again, it reconciles against that deadline instead of relying on every browser animation tick having run.
Will the next focus session or break start automatically?
No. When an interval ends, the timer selects the appropriate next mode and sounds the alarm, but waits for you to press Start. This prevents a break or focus session from silently running before you are ready.
What happens to my daily progress tomorrow?
The completed-session count is tied to your device's local calendar date. On the next day it starts at zero, while your custom interval settings, task label, and alarm preference remain saved in this browser.
